IMPROVED ADA COUNTY NEIGHBORHOODS
ACHD commissioners continue to work with cities & school districts to improve neighborhood unification and safety. ACHD has added, and continues to add, crosswalks and sidewalks to school routes to add safety and reduce the need for expensive, safety busing, while avoiding tax increases.
IMPROVED FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
ACHD has implemented measures to reduce costs and maintain the most cost-effective employee-to-task ratio possible. ACHD has identified and implemented innovative methods that reduce maintenance costs while maintaining Ada County’s roads and bridges in very good condition. Using these cost savings, ACHD has completed much needed capital improvements sooner, adding travel lanes and eliminating bottlenecks. ACHD has won local and national awards for projects and innovations.
IMPROVED AIR QUALITY
Relieving traffic congestion is critical to improving air quality. ACHD continues to implement solutions that include improving signal timing and coordination to enhance traffic flow, eliminating traffic bottlenecks, adding permissive left turns where feasible, and targeting critical intersections for improvements.
IMPROVED COMMUNICATION WITH CONSTITUENTS
ACHD has increased opportunity for public input earlier in the project planning process; listening to business and neighborhood concerns and considering public input and priorities in the decision-making process.
